Dr Hyginus Odinaka Okeke is a highly experienced professional with over twenty-four years of work in microfinance, training, community development, and project management. He has been involved in designing, running, and reviewing projects, managing funds, supporting small businesses, and carrying out accounting research.

He previously served as the Programme Coordinator (General Manager) of Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF), an international non-governmental organisation based in Lagos. Over the years, he has consulted for several international and local organisations, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Five Talents International (FTI), USA.

Dr Okeke has received extensive professional training from reputable institutions such as the Procredit Microfinance Academy in Frankfurt, Germany, Uganda Microfinance Union, Lagos Business School, Philip Consulting, IBFC Agusto, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, among others.

He holds a National Diploma (ND) and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Accountancy, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking and Finance, a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Accountancy, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accountancy. He is also a Certified Microfinance Banker (MCP).

Dr Okeke is an experienced trainer and consultant in microfinance and risk management, and he also works as an accounting research consultant with several publications in international journals. He currently serves as the Head of Operations at Umuchinemere Procredit Microfinance Bank in Enugu and oversees the bank’s training academy.

As a Trustee of Mama Nnanna Foundation, he brings deep experience and a strong passion for community development. His work has taken him to different countries, helping him gain wider knowledge and a broader view of how to support people and communities effectively.
